Lawyer Overview

Mr. Eriksen is a partner in charge of the firm's Litigation Team. His primary practice areas are civil litigation, insurance law, personal injury law, negligence, and construction law. Peter has successfully represented victims' rights in cases ranging from electrocutions and airplane disasters to automobile accidents and slip-and-fall cases.

Mr. Eriksen is a member of the American Arbitration Association. He is on the board of directors of the Orange County Bar Association and a member of the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, (Tort and Insurance Practice Section), The American Association for Justice and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Eriksen also serves on the board of directors of the Children's Rights Society of Orange County.

Peter is a 1969 graduate of St. Lawrence University where he obtained his B.A. degree. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1973 from Syracuse University. Peter was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1974, and the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals, 2nd Circuit in 1975. He was with The Legal Aid Society of New York City from 1973-1976 and a Deputy County Attorney for Onondaga County from 1976-1979. He can be e-mailed at pre@jacobowitz.com.
