Doug Beresford has over 25 years of experience in all facets of energy practice, including representation of clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and state regulatory commissions, negotiations with the U.S. Rural Utilities Service and other regulatory authorities, and litigation before the U.S. courts of appeals and state appellate courts. His practice focuses on transactions and regulation involving the financial and corporate structures of utilities and energy projects.

Doug has represented a wide variety of clients, including rural electric cooperatives, investor-owned electric utilities, natural gas pipeline companies, local distribution companies, and industrial consumers. Doug has extensive experience with issues concerning independent power production, open-access transmission, market power, and market-based competition.
