Paul Wilson graduated from Belmont Abbey College, in Charlotte, NC, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He received his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law and also earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Public Administration. Mr. Wilson also completed additional graduate hours at Old Dominion University in the field of Urban Studies.

At Syracuse University, Mr. Wilson was a member of the National Trial Team and president of the Student Bar Association. He won several prestigious trial advocacy competitions while a student.

Mr. Wilson has been in private practice in Newport News and Hampton since 1980. His primary areas of expertise are divorce, criminal defense and personal injury.

Mr. Wilson is a member of the Virginia and Newport News Bar Associations. He was appointed by the Supreme Court of Virginia as a member of the Virginia State Medical Malpractice Review Committee. Mr. Wilson has also served as an instructor for the Bridge-the-Gap Seminars, which provide training for newly-licensed lawyers in domestic relations.

A firm believer in community service, Mr. Wilson is a past president of the Wythe Exchange Club, a local civic organization, and coached Little League and currently is an assistant coach for the Hampton Roads Academy track team.

He is married to and practices with Christie M. Wilson. The Wilsons have been married for 25 years and have a son and a daughter in college.
