Summary

Law Firm Overview

For over 25 years Mr. McNabb has been helping clients obtain practical and efficient solutions for their personal and business affairs. He is committed to providing personal, prompt, professional legal services.

Mr. McNabb is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and its sections on family law, trusts and estates, business law, and real property. He has served on the Byrne School site council, Risen Savior Catholic Church parish council, Burnsville Chamber of Commerce board, and the City of Burnsville charter commission.

  • Family Law.  Mr. McNabb has served on the faculty of the Family Law Institute, the major family law seminar presented each year by Minnesota Continuing Legal Education.  He worked with state representative Andy Dawkins to obtain enactment of the parenting plan legislation, which is designed to reduce litigation over child custody.  He works with mediators to enable couples to dissolve their marriages with dignity.

  • Wills and Probate.  Mr. McNabb drafts wills, trusts, health care directives, and financial powers of attorney.  In the probate process he assists the personal representative with the administration of the estate.  This includes the appointment of the representative, preparation of the inventory of the estate, payment of claims, preparation of the final account, and distribution of the estate.

  • Business Law.  Mr. McNabb assists clients in establishing corporations, limited liability companies, non-profit organizations, and partnerships.  He reviews with clients the relevant factors in selecting the type of business organization and drafts the necessary documents, such as articles, bylaws, resolutions and agreements.

  • Real Estate. Mr. McNabb assists clients with residential and commercial real estate transactions.  He drafts necessary instruments (purchase agreements, deeds, contracts for deed), examines title insurance commitments, and advises clients on the effect of various real estate instruments.

  • Criminal Defense.  In this part of his practice, Mr. McNabb draws on his prior experience as a state prosecutor for felony cases and on his service as a private attorney on the panel of Federal Public Defenders in the United States District Court.
