Law Firm Overview

The firm was established in July of 1987 in Brick Township located in Ocean County, New Jersey as the Law Offices of James LePore, Esq. Prior to that time, James LePore had been a successful litigation attorney handling both plaintiff and defense cases. He was also a partner in the law firm of Breslin, Herten & LePore, which was located in Bergen County in northeast, New Jersey. Having spent every summer of his life at the Jersey Shore, James had always dreamed of living and working at the beach, and now had realized the beginning of his dream. His vision was to develop a law firm that specialized in all types of litigation, but also performed a general practice to try to serve all the needs of the local community.

In 1991, James' brother, Robert M. LePore, came on board and the name of the firm was changed to LePore & LePore. Robert also had litigation experience coming from the insurance defense firm of Kennedy, Vespole and Piecta in West Orange, New Jersey. By this time the firm had developed both a defendant and plaintiff oriented personal injury practice, as well as a general practice, handling real estate matters, wills, estates, matrimonial and family law matters.

In June of 1993, Peter J. Luizzi became associated with the firm. Peter came from a large Newark firm, Tompkins, McGuire & Wachenfeld, where he gained insurance defense experience, particularly in large complicated matters.

In September 1993, LePore & LePore opened a north jersey office in Bergen County located in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, and the firm name was changed to LePore, Zimmerer & LePore. The firm had grown to four attorney's with two offices, and now could handle cases in virtually every county of the State of New Jersey, as well as in all three of New Jersey's United States District Courts.

In January of 1995, Peter J. Luizzi, was named a partner in the firm. The firm name then changed to LePore, Zimmerer, LePore & Luizzi and was growing.

In 1995, James and Robert's younger brother, Joseph G. LePore, joined the firm. Joseph was the former law clerk of the presiding civil judge in Bergen County, the Honorable Peter J. Doyne.

In September of 1997, the firm continued to grow and Christine N. Rossi became associated with the firm as an attorney. Christine was a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas O'Brien in Ocean County.

In January of 1998, Joseph LePore was named a partner in the firm. In January of 1999, founder, James LePore, decided to semi-retire and become Of Counsel.

In June of 1999, Christina Blunda, Esq., joined the firm and firm name was changed to LePore, Luizzi, LePore & Blunda, P.C. Also in June, the firm secured another shore area office in Monmouth County located in Red Bank, New Jersey, through an association with Terence Kenny, Esq. who also joined the firm Of Counsel.

The firm now has presence in three New Jersey counties, and handles cases in every county in the state. The firm's primary area of practice is still both plaintiff and insurance defense of personal injury matters, matrimonial and family law matters. However, the firm's practice has expanded to worker's compensation, residential and commercial real estate, municipal and juvenile law, wills and estate litigation, employment law and commercial litigated matters. The firm also has established roots in the Brick Township community which is a town of 75,000 residents. The firm is on the municipal public defender list and is counsel to Brick Homes Now, Inc., affordable housing. The firm is active in the Brick Rotary, Brick Chamber of Commerce, Brick Lion's Club and Brick Little League.

James LePore's vision of starting a Beach area firm with a general practice has been realized and is ready to move forward into the next millennium and continue to grow and serve all its clients' needs.
