Avery & Cheerva LLP was founded as a result of a mutual interest in a concentrated family law practice. The firm's current partners, Melissa Avery and Michael Cheerva, as well as associate Christopher Barrows now serve a wide range of clients throughout central Indiana in matters involving dissolution of marriage, custody, visitation, child support, alimony, adoptions, paternity, prenuptial agreements, and related areas as well as family law appeals and mediation. Our firm prides itself on discreetly representing high profile clients in complex litigation as well as remaining at the forefront of developments in family law. The firm encourages continuing professional development of all partners, associates, and staff members; participates in Continuing Legal Education seminars as instructors and participants; is active in state and local bar associations and maintains an experienced staff and technologically sophisticated office. Melissa Avery was certified as a Family Law Specialist in 2002 and granted Fellowship in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 2006.  Christopher Barrows was certified as a Family Law Specialist in 2005 and Michael Cheerva in 2007.
