Law Firm Overview

Philip B. Iaconis commenced a solo law practice in 1954, at 234 Genesee Street in Chittenango. In 1961, he purchased the former Chittenango Library, at 257 Genesee Street, which, itself, once housed the early law office of Daniel Walrath, one of the first attorneys in the Village of Chittenango. Philip Iaconis fully renovated the building and maintained his practice there until 1969. He sold the practice to William F. O'Brien and Peter Mitchell from Cazenovia, New York, when he became an Administrative Law Judge in the New York State Workers Compensation Board, for the South Central District of New York.

William O'Brien then occupied the 257 Genesee Street office. In 1974, Philip Iaconis returned to Chittenango, as a solo practitioner, and worked from his home on Seneca Street in the Village. In September 1978, Paul Iaconis left active military service in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the Army to join his father, in forming the partnership of Iaconis and Iaconis, a general practice Law Firm, with concentration in cases involving injured persons. Iaconis and Iaconis resumed occupancy of 257 Genesee Street in the spring of 1979. John G. Iaconis joined the firm in 1988 as a law clerk and, in 1989, obtained his license to represent clients in work-related claims in front of the Workers' Compensation Board of New York.

In September 1996, the firm merged with Peter A. Baum, Esq., to form the firm of Iaconis, Iaconis & Baum. In June 2008, the firm became a Professional Limited Liability Company under its current title.
