The Pittsburgh Office of Jones Day offers a full range of legal services, with approximately 60 lawyers representing clients in litigation and transactions, including labor and employment, product liability, environmental and toxic torts, insurance recovery, aviation and transportation, tax planning and controversies, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property matters. Our attorneys utilize the resources of a global firm to deliver world-class representation and seamless client service to a local, national, and international client base. Opened in 1989, the Pittsburgh Office blends the advantages of a global legal presence with the immediacy of a local firm.

The Pittsburgh Office has a deep roster of experienced trial attorneys who appear in scores of state and federal courts around the country, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Through innovative client work, our product liability and toxic tort defense teams have achieved landmark verdicts, shaping the law in matters of national importance. The labor and employment group has been involved in some of the most high-profile labor, restructuring, and class action matters in the country. Our insurance recovery teams have secured millions of dollars in coverage for clients in U.S. courts and international arbitrations, and the environmental group has represented clients with success in the courtroom, state and national regulatory agencies, and complex negotiations. Our transactional and tax lawyers work with a client base that includes start up ventures, private middle market companies, and Fortune 500 companies, and the intellectual property team manages prosecution, litigation, counseling, and transactional matters. We also have broad experience in emerging areas of energy and technology, including issues of climate change, nanotechnology, and natural gas drilling and development.

For more than two decades, the attorneys of the Pittsburgh Office have dedicated themselves to meeting the legal needs of under-served populations. Our office administers a legal clinic for indigent veterans and we have handled dozens of federal appeals and alternative dispute resolution procedures for litigants unable to afford counsel. Our attorneys also work to reclaim blighted properties for renovation and renewal, and we occupy leadership positions in a broad range of civic and nonprofit organizations.
