Lawyer Overview

Alec Wightman's law practice covers a wide range of business and business-related areas, with substantial experience in the healthcare industry. He represents privately held and public companies, including a leading provider of products and services supporting the healthcare industry.

Mr. Wightman also has substantial experience in bankruptcy and workouts, including the representation of private and public company debtors, official and unofficial creditors' committees, secured and unsecured creditors and third-party purchasers and plan proponents in Chapter 11 cases. His commercial law experience includes representation of borrowers, lenders, investors and creditors in a variety of financing transactions.

Mr. Wightman served as an Executive Partner of the law firm from January 2004 until June 2008. He previously served for more than ten years as the firm's Legal Services Partner, with responsibility for coordinating the firm’s national system of substantive legal practices and industry teams.

Mr. Wightman is a member of the American, Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations as well as the Ohio Oil & Gas Association. He serves on the Executive Committee and as Chair of the Development Committee of the Board of Directors of Cleveland Rock and Roll, Inc., which operates the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, and is past President of the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute Foundation. Mr. Wightman has been named in The Best Lawyers in America since 1997.
