Doug Mansfield is a litigator with more than 15 years of experience in complex corporate and commercial litigation and class actions. Doug represents clients in the automotive, agricultural, telecommunications, securities, broker-dealer, banking, health care, real estate, and construction industries in disputes relating to complicated contracts, distributor terminations, trade secrets, consumer fraud, government investigations, and compliance matters. Doug also advises clients on USDA and state regulatory issues under the federal and state seed laws.

Doug has tried cases before state and federal courts, state administrative agencies, and Self-Regulating Organizations (SROs), such as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), and other arbitration panels around the country. Doug recently represented American Electric Power in a multimillion dollar dispute involving termination of derivatives contracts under an International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) master agreement with a Canadian counterparty. Doug is currently counsel for First American Title Insurance Company in a putative class action pending in federal court seeking recovery of all First American title insurance premiums paid on residential real estate transactions by Illinois citizens. He spent four years in the U.S. Army as a Chinese linguist and three years in Tokyo as a securities analyst. He is proficient in Mandarin Chinese and Japanese.

Doug is a member of the Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations and is active in pro bono matters. Doug is currently representing a Mt. Vernon, Ohio student and his family in a case involving separation of church and state in which a teacher, John Freshwater, allegedly burned a cross on the student's arm.
