Since moving to Madison, Wisconsin, his practice has been exclusively in the area of family law. While Mr. Joanis frequently acts as a guardian ad litem in contested cases involving children and is frequently selected to mediate cases, he also enjoys an active divorce trial practice.

Mr. Joanis is the co-author with Linda S. Balisle of "Compensation on Dissolution of Marriage for Spousal Contributions to Education," 31 Am. Jur. Trials 1, and a co-author with Kenneth Waldron, Ph.D, of "Understanding and Collaboratively Treating Parental Alienation Syndrome," American Journal of Family Law, Volume X, No. 3, Fall 1996.
