Leigh is also an experienced litigator, having begun her practice of law in the public defender’s office in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She now litigates civil cases including medical malpractice defense, employment discrimination litigation, insurance defense work, and general business litigation. She graduated from Auburn University in 1984 and from Cumberland School of Law magna cum laude in 1994. Leigh was a member of the Cumberland Law Review, Henry Upson Sims Moot Court Board and Curia Honoris. She is active in health care industry groups and is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association, and is a Junior Patron of the Birmingham Museum of Art. Leigh speaks frequently to various groups within the state regarding health care and employment law matters.
