Law Firm Overview

Timothy Durant has been a sole practitioner in general practice in Clearfield, PA since 1975. Having paid for his own college education by selling Nave's Topical Bibles for the Southwestern Company of Nashville, TN, Mr. Durant's decidedly entrepreneurial, independent spirit influenced his determination to start his own practice immediately after graduation from law school. With nothing more than his JD degree, confidence in his own ability to perform and at a time when the vast majority of his law school classmates headed for ventures as law clerks or associate lawyers in mostly urban law firms, his decision was considered risky. For Mr. Durant, it was the beginning of a fulfilling career providing comprehensive legal services to families in a rural setting.

Mr. Durant's entire legal career has been as a solo practitioner with brief stints as a (part-time) public defender and then district attorney for Clearfield County - positions he voluntarily gave up in his second year as his client base grew and demanded more and more of his time. As the practice developed, it's emphasis has evolved to allow Mr. Durant to concentrate on his favorite areas of law, i.e., personal injury, probate, real estate, wills and estate planning, business formation, adoption and worker's compensation law.
