Stuart Barr represents publicly and privately held companies in connection with initial public offerings, primary and secondary offerings, 144A private placements, senior and subordinated debt financings, tender offers and exchange offers, and mergers and acquisitions. Stuart also represents a large number of investment banking firms in connection with domestic and international securities offerings of all types. His recent experience includes representing underwriters and issuers in numerous initial public offerings and other securities offerings and representing publicly-traded companies in public mergers as well as multiple acquisitions of privately-held companies.

Following a one-year appointment to serve as a law clerk for The Honorable Naomi Reice Buchwald of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, he entered private practice when he joined a large New York firm. He practiced at that firm's New York and London offices, where he represented investment banks and U.S. and European companies in many different industries in connection with public and private securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions. Upon return from a two-year assignment in London, Stuart relocated to Washington, D.C., and joined Hogan & Hartson in January 2000.
