Brian has represented a cross-section of the nation's largest companies in class actions and complex commercial litigation. Brian's class experience spans a variety of substantive legal areas, including consumer class defense on behalf of clients such as Bank of America and Lowe's Home Improvement; employment class defense of behalf of clients such as General Electric, Maxim Healthcare, and Wal-Mart Stores; and shareholder class defense on behalf of clients, including Cardinal Health and Deloitte and Touche LLP. His experience in complex commercial litigation has included breach of contract actions, corporate governance disputes, and tax litigation for clients, including Argonne National Laboratory, Dayton Power and Light Company, and North American Coal Corporation (NACCO).

In addition to his litigation experience, Brian has counseled clients on issues such as corporate governance, document retention and electronic discovery, the valuation and minimization of litigation risks, open records and sunshine laws, warranties, releases, internal ethics guidelines, and consumer protection laws. He also has assisted clients in investigating claims of unethical or illegal conduct raised by possible whistleblowers and in responding to subpoenas or other inquiries from state and federal investigators, agencies, and legislative bodies.

Brian has been active in the legal community, with former positions as a commissioner of the Ohio Client Security Fund and as a chairman of Columbus Bar Association committees. He currently is a member of the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism and an officer of the Federal Bar Association in the Southern District of Ohio.

Brian was named an "Ohio Rising Star" by Law & Politics magazine in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
