Steve Fink, a partner in the New York office, practices in the area of securities litigation. The following are some of his notable engagements: PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Mr. Fink represents PwC in a number of matters, including a series of actions alleging federal securities fraud and audit malpractice against PwC in connection with the failure of Lipper Convertibles, a hedge fund. Milken Global Settlement. Mr. Fink was a member of our team representing a Milken/Drexel partnership defending the settlement in Presidential Life Ins. Co. v. Milken against collateral attack. Chesterfield Investments. Mr. Fink was a member of the trial team representing Chesterfield, an investment partnership, in a $100 million breach of contract claim arising from a sale of stock that was tried before a jury in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The case settled in Chesterfield’s favor for over $30 million during jury deliberations. Private Equity Disputes. Mr. Fink has represented a number of major public pension plans and other investors in disputes arising out of their investments in private equity funds. The Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation. Mr. Fink serves as counsel for this charitable foundation in a number of proceedings relating to the estate plan of the late ice cream impresario Tom Carvel. He has tried four proceedings to the Westchester County, New York Surrogate's Court on behalf of the Foundation since 2001 in connection with the Foundation's successful efforts to recover assets from Tom's estate. Von Ardenne Coating Technology. Mr. Fink served as counsel to this manufacturer of glass coating equipment in a post-closing purchase price dispute pending in New York Supreme Court arising out of its purchase of a glass coating business.
