Sheryl Leichenger specializes in representing insurers in coverage and related matters, including extracontractual matters, emphasizing third-party insurance coverage, construction and environmental matters, professional liability, food liability, underwriting disputes, and commercial/business claims. Ms. Leichenger advises her clients on business practices, underwriting and claims handling, and drafts policy language and endorsements. Her expertise also includes primary/excess issues.
Ms. Leichenger received her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, in 1992. Ms. Leichenger attended California State University at Northridge where she received her B.S. in Accounting in 1987. She was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1992. She is admitted to practice before all California State Courts and the United States District Court for the Central District of California and United States District Court for the Southern District of California. She has practiced law continuously since 1992.
Ms. Leichenger is a regular speaker at seminars and on panels regarding insurance coverage issues throughout the United States. She has been a speaker at the Annual West Coast Casualty Construction Seminar from 2001 to present; the Defense Research Institute Food Liability Seminar in St. Louis, Missouri; the 8th Annual MC2 Consultants Seminar in Key West, Florida; the 9th Annual MC2 Consultants Seminar in Colorado Springs, Colorado; and numerous Lorman Educational Institute seminars. She has also spoken extensively to businesses, trade groups, and various insurance industry groups throughout California, Illinois and Arizona.
Ms. Leichenger is involved in community activities in the Los Angeles area. She has served on the Board of AYSO, Region 76, and currently serves on the Executive Board as the Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate as well as on the Board of Directors of The Construction Defect Community Charitable Foundation. Ms. Leichenger has been named one of the top 50 female lawyers in Southern California by Super Lawyer Magazine.
