Lawyer Overview

Jon Stock's practice includes a broad range of civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on litigation under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, 47 U.S.C. § 227 (the TCPA) and litigation involving distressed properties and commercial real estate. He has served as lead counsel for several TCPA class actions and has authored several articles on the TCPA, the CAN-SPAM Act, and related restrictions on mass marketing. He has also successfully represented both landlords and tenants in commercial property disputes, including evictions.

Jon has experience as an appellate and trial attorney. Jon is admitted to practice and has briefed matters before the United States Supreme Court and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Eighth Circuits. In addition, he has litigated public pension issues where he was part of a team that won a victory before the Ohio Supreme Court and has argued and won a case under the Ohio Lemon Law before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Jon also has appeared in several successful trials including a product liability defense that resulted in a directed verdict for client Bausch & Lomb Surgical, a defense of a two million dollar adversary claim against LTV Steel that resulted in a complete defense victory, a successful damages trial that resulted in an award of over half a million dollars for an individual client, a preliminary injunction hearing that awarded local business clients an injunction against the smoking regulation adopted by the Delaware County Board of Health, and a water rights trial that affirmed the riparian rights of municipal clients on the Cuyahoga River.
