Law Firm Overview

Upon my admission to the bar, I fulfilled my goal of "hanging out my own shingle." For the nine years prior to that (through law school, graduate school and college), I had worked for the World's largest lawfirm, and for a while, a sole practioner. I served both in various support staff capacities, and learned how to, and how not to, practice law and deal with clients, lawyers, and judges. Since the beginning, it has been exciting, challenging, and both personally and financially rewarding.

At this point, my practice is focused upon litigation, mainly personal injury and worker's compensation, but also touching upon commercial litigation, criminal matters, and even family matters, such as divorce and custody issues. I regularly practice before the Circuit Courts of Cook, Lake, DuPage and Will Counties, the Federal Court for the Northern District of Illinois, administrative agencies such as the Industrial Commission which handle worker's compensation matters.

On a daily basis, I handle matters with complex medical and engineering issues as well as routine automobile collision with undisputed facts. Whether a case involves a difficult contractual interpretation or simply shepherding it through an increasingly complex legal system, it remains my goal to provide personal service as much as possible to clients with a high quality of representation. It is a personal joy of mine that many clients long after the representation is through consider me a friend enough to share a part of their personal life, a Christmas card or a family newsletter. Occasionally, this personal involvement with clients has made the difference between a routine settlement or verdict, and one with an exceptional result.

While I am ultimately responsible for everything which happens in your case, Denise Maly-Politano is my very capable assistant who can, and often does, help you out with matters. Denise graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and a paralegal degree from Roosevelt University. Like myself, she has worked for many years at very large lawfirms, and also for much smaller enterprises.
