Lawyer Overview
An Attorney in East San Diego County since 1976, Bill's practice is concentrated in real estate, including transactions and litigation as well as land use matters before public agencies throughout the County. Augmenting this practice, he has also been active as a developer, manager and owner of commercial properties and has been active in development related businesses.
Bill has negotiated and developed transactional documents for a variety of properties including commercial leases, lease-options, lending packages, joint ventures, partnerships, and many others. Construction and development related matters are a regular part of his practice including construction agreements, indemnities and insurance agreements, mechanics lien workouts, and lending package arrangements.
A team of supporting attorneys and staff, as well as the best independent expert assistance available, has been developed by Bill to provide clients with excellent litigation support. He and Ron as trained arbitrators and mediators look for new and innovative ways to resolve disputes at the earliest time. But experience shows that the best settlements are obtained while aggressively defending our client's position. Each case is regularly reassessed and the client advised about potential results, costs and settlement options. Our approach has been very successful in verdicts, judgments and, most often, advantageous settlements.
Bill's practice began after service with the Navy and obtaining his J.D. degree from Western States University (Now Thomas Jefferson School of Law). Prior to active duty, he earned his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Iowa and worked part time as a land surveyor for four years. He has had the great pleasure of serving on several civic and church boards, most notably including nearly 15 years service to the Clubs, and now the Foundation, of the East County Boys and Girls Clubs. In 2002 he was named East County Citizen of the Year.
