Law Firm Overview

Paul C. Keeton opened his Lewiston office in 1945 and the practice quickly focused on the vigorous representation of individuals to meet their legal needs not only in worker's compensation and general civil litigation, but also in providing sound legal advice in many areas of law including real estate matters, wills and probate, contracts of all kinds, family law, and insurance disputes. Mr. Keeton passed away on March 24, 2005.

John R. Tait joined the practice in 1974 and continued firm's active representation of people of the region in a variety of matters. He is a graduate of Columbia College, New York, NY, in 1968, served in the US Army as a Counterintelligence Special Agent and graduated from the Vanderbilt University College of Law, Nashville, TN,  in 1974.  He has primary responsibility for worker's compensation, personal injury, wills, probate, real estate, business, and general civil litigation matters

Mr. Ken Nagy joined the firm as an associate in 2000 having graduated from Rutgers University and the University of Idaho College of Law. He has a particular interest in fair housing law and practice before the Nez Perce Tribal Court. He also handles civil rights, employment discrimination, family law, and criminal defense matters for the firm.

Ms. Karin Seubert  joined the firm as an associate in 2007, having graduated from Wake Forest University, Magna Cum Laude, Winston-Salem, NC,  in 1999, the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, Master of Community Planning, 2001 and the Washington College of Law, American University, Cum Laude, Washington, DC, in 2007.  In addition to her interest in real estate and administrative law, she deals with general litigation, family law and wills, probate and employment discrimination law cases. 

The firm normally does not represent large corporations or insurance companies, but rather focuses on representing individuals. Corporations and insurance companies have access to lawyers. Individuals need high quality representation and Keeton and Tait seeks to meet that need.

We are particularly proud of the excellent legal staff at Keeton and Tait, with our key paralegal and legal assistants each having over 25 years of experience with us. Their talents assist the firm in providing the highest quality legal work at reasonable costs to our clients.

Keeton and Tait is a participant in the Union Privilege Legal Service benefits program for AFL-CIO union members as well as the Idaho Education Association legal benefits program for teachers. We are the only local long time participant in these programs. These programs assist individuals in obtaining legal services at very reasonable costs.
