For both publicly-owned and private companies, Mr. Chameides has negotiated and structured mergers, acquisitions, divestments, financings, joint ventures and other business initiatives. His wide transactional practice encompasses such business sectors as manufacturing, technology, communications, health care, security, shipping and aviation, and real estate, and has included transnational projects and investments involving state-owned enterprises. In addition, he has extensive experience in commercial litigation and arbitration, and in matters relating to governmental regulation of business activity.

Mr. Chameides is a member of the District of Columbia and New York bars, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Claims, and many federal trial and appellate courts. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and other professional organizations.

Before joining Foley & Lardner LLP, Mr. Chameides served as a JAG officer in the U.S. Navy, practiced law in New York City, and was a founding partner of a firm specializing in maritime and aviation law and business. He graduated, with honors, from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was research editor of the Journal of Law Reform. Prior to law school, he earned undergraduate degrees in naval architecture and marine engineering and in mathematics from the University of Michigan College of Engineering.

A private pilot and ocean sailor, Mr. Chameides resides in Bethesda, Maryland, where he is active in many charitable and civic organizations.
