Lester Savit heads the intellectual property practice in Jones Day's Irvine Office, representing high-tech companies in California and throughout the country. He has successfully represented major U.S. corporations as both plaintiffs and defendants in patent infringement actions. Lester has obtained judgments in favor of patent owners totaling more than $93 million.

In addition to his litigation practice, Lester advises clients on special projects involving protecting inventions and avoiding infringement. He writes and speaks on current intellectual property and litigation issues. He frequently participates on expert panels at UCLA and has been quoted on intellectual property issues in the Los Angeles Times, California Lawyer, and InfoWorld.

Eastman Kodak Company, Eastman Chemical Company, and Zimmer Aktiengesellschaft v. The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and Shell Oil Company, U.S. District Ct., E.D. Tenn.; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. (Obtained jury verdict of $12 million, increased to $20 million judgment; affirmed on appeal.)

Videojet Systems International, Inc. v. Eagle Inks, Inc., U.S. District Ct., N.D. Ill.; U.S. Ct. App., Fed. Cir. (Obtained judgment of over $9 million based on infringement of patents on inkjet technology; affirmed on appeal.)

Sparks v. Eastman Kodak Company, U.S. District Court, C.D. Cal. (Obtained dismissal of patent infringement action involving optics technology; affirmed on appeal.)
