Dave High's practice includes business law for public and private companies, including general corporate law (for-profit and not-for-profit), contracts, corporate finance, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, securities, joint ventures, and corporate compliance programs.

Dave has significant experience in acquisition and divestiture transactions, having represented private and public companies in purchases and sales within and outside the U.S. He also has years of experience representing large institutional and other lenders, and borrowers, in commercial and venture capital lending transactions and has advised public and private companies on securities laws compliance matters throughout his career.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Dave was vice president and general counsel of DQE, a then publicly traded multi-utility delivery and services company. He also served as vice president and general counsel of DQE's electric utility subsidiary, Duquesne Light Company (DLC). Dave had primary responsibility for DLC's generation "swap" with FirstEnergy (interests in nuclear plants for interests in coal-fired plants) and DLC's subsequent $1.7 billion auction sale of all of its electric generation facilities to Orion Power Holdings (now Reliant Energy).

For 13 years Dave was an adjunct professor at Robert Morris College. He also has served as an author and presenter for several continuing legal education courses for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.

Dave is a member of the Ellwood City Zoning Hearing Board and a member of an advisory board to Community Enrichment For Ellwood City, a nonprofit subsidiary of the city's chamber of commerce. He also serves on the board of directors of the Center for Hope in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
