Lawyer Overview

Cathy Ehrgott represents companies as transactional counsel and as general corporate counsel with a focus on companies in the health care industry. She has experience representing clients in commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private placements, and asset and stock purchases and sales. She has more than a decade of experience as a health care lawyer and advises clients regarding health law issues, including licensure, Medicare fraud and abuse, and Stark Law compliance.

Cathy has assisted clients in the negotiating and drafting of health care-related commercial agreements, including consulting agreements, physician employment agreements, physician recruitment agreements, pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) agreements, and pharmacy rebate agreements. She has experience with managed care companies in structuring, negotiating, and drafting operational agreements, including managed care payor agreements, ASO agreements, PHO agreements, vendor agreements, and professional, ancillary, and facility provider agreements.

Cathy is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the California Society of Health Lawyers, the American Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She has served in various leadership positions with the Health Law Committee of the California State Bar's Business Law Section, including serving as cochairperson (2003-2004) and as vice chairperson (2004-2005). Cathy was appointed by the board of governors of the State Bar of California to serve on the Executive Committee of its Business Law Section, and she will serve as liaison to the Health Law Committee. She was named as one of the "leaders in their field" in the 2007 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business.
