Cloppert, Latanick, Sauter & Washburn is a 11 attorney law firm that was founded in Columbus in 1983. It specializes in areas of labor and employment law, representing labor unions and individuals; and also personal injury, representing plaintiffs.

It represents international and local labor unions, both in the private sector and the public sector. In this representation, we are involved in all facets of labor law, including negotiations, arbitration, advocacy before administrative agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board and the State Employment Relations Board, the State Teachers Retirement System and representation in State and Federal court. Their practice has primarily been limited to the State of Ohio. In 1990, Senior Partner Frederick Cloppert argued on behalf of the respondents in the case of Wooddell v. IBEW Local 71 in the U.S. Supreme Court.

In the area of personal injury practice, we have represented individuals in many counties in central and southern Ohio prosecuting claims related to personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, etc.

The representation by members of the firm has taken them to all levels of the State court system, including arguments in the Ohio Supreme Court, as well as all levels of the Federal system, including argument in the Sixth Circuit, Seventh Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
