Mr. Knecht was born in Flint, Michigan, November 6, 1953. He graduated from Duke University in 1975, and from the Detroit College of Law in 1979. Mr. Knecht maintains memberships in the Genesee County Bar Association (Current Officer and Director), State Bar of Michigan (Past President of the Negligence Section), American Bar Association and Michigan Defense Trial Counsel.

Mr. Knecht maintains a general civil practice including professional liability defense, general defense, business litigation and personal injury litigation. He also maintains a real estate and estate planning practice.
