Lawyer Overview
Jonathan David Rapore is Of Counsel to Gilchrist & Rutter. He is a litigator with more than 25 years of trial and appellate experience representing plaintiffs and defendants, individuals and corporations, particularly in the areas of contract breach and enforcement, fraud, franchising, real estate, surety bonds and other commercial matters. He has tried, or handled arbitrations in, more than 50 cases and has argued more than 15 appeals in various federal and state courts.
Mr. Rapore is the author of "Venue Selection: A Bemuddled Fuddle", ABA Franchise Lawyer Journal (2002); "Franchise Currents", ABA Franchise Law Journal (1999 and 2000); and "Selecting the Proper Forum to Enforce One's Choice of Forum", ABA Franchise Law Journal, (1998).
Mr. Rapore received his J.D. degree from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley and his B.A. cum laude from University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned Dean's List and Distinguished Departmental Honors.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Rapore served as Law Clerk to the Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Central District of California. Mr. Rapore has also served as Judge Pro Tem, Los Angeles Municipal Court, and as Adjunct Professor, Trial Advocacy, at Hastings College of Law, University of California.
