Lawyer Overview
Lynn Bregman is a senior counsel in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Business Trial Group. In addition to handling general litigation matters, she has for more than fifteen years concentrated her practice on complex insurance coverage matters.
Practice
For more than 20 years, Ms. Bregman represented insurers at the trial and appellate level in numerous major state and federal court coverage cases involving long-term exposures to such substances as asbestos, industrial chemicals and lead paint and in scores of environmental pollution coverage actions. She also represented insureds and insurers in negotiations and litigation involving coverage under general liability, property and specialized liability (such as media) policies; analyzed coverage claims and advised companies on a range of insurance matters; and participated in alternative dispute resolution and arbitration proceedings.
Presently, Ms. Bregman works with associates and counsel who want to improve their legal writing; provides advice and assistance with respect to taking and defending depositions, presenting oral arguments, and other advocacy skills; and consults with firm lawyers about organizational skills and project- and time-management issues.
Professional Activities
Ms. Bregman is a member of the American Bar Association and the DC Women’s Bar Association. She has published articles on issues of law and psychiatry.
