Dickson Chin's practice is focused on the representation of clients in energy-related transactions.

He has extensive experience in advising clients on:

• master agreements and credit support documents for over-the-counter forward and derivatives transactions involving all types of commodities and related environmental products, including power, natural gas, coal, renewable energy certificates, carbon offsets, and emission allowances, and the commercial, credit, regulatory, and bankruptcy considerations related to those transactions

• hedging and other derivatives transactions in connection with project finance and other financing arrangements

• credit support agreements and instruments, intercreditor arrangements, and credit policies and procedures

• energy and fuel management and asset optimization agreements

• structured transactions for power plant owners, including arrangements for the long-term purchase of power, natural gas, coal, and transportation, and the design and implementation of requests for proposals and

• other energy marketing, trading, and operational matters.

Dickson's work also encompasses a wide range of activities in renewable energy and climate change. He has advised clients in energy projects related to wind, biogas, biomass, and solar and in the creation and trading of carbon offsets in the United States.

Dickson is a frequent speaker on industry topics and has actively participated in the development of industry agreements for electricity, natural gas, coal, renewable energy certificates, and emissions allowances with the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), and the Coal Trading Association (CTA).
