RICHARD J. PETRE, JR. has been a shareholder in Onebane Law Firm since 1986. He is a graduate of the University of New Orleans and the LSU Law Center. From 1977 through 1981, he worked as an Assistant District Attorney in New Orleans. During that time, he also served as an instructor in the Trial Advocacy Program at Tulane Law School. He has lectured and written on most aspects of Louisiana insurance coverage and insurer bad faith.

He recently has lectured on civil rights litigation at a special program on governmental entity liability held in May 2002 at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette; has lectured on 2002 tort and insurance law developments in a series of six regional seminars held in early 2003 for the Louisiana Claims Association; has authored ?Challenging the Law Enforcement Expert? that appeared in the November 2001 issue of For the Defense published by the Defense Research Institute; has written and published the Louisiana Tort and Insurance Law Newsletters for clients and friends of the Onebane Law Firm; has given client workshops on CGL coverage in Louisiana; and is a contributor to and a state liaison for the monthly newsletter Covered Event published by the DRI Insurance Law Committee.
