Virginia G. Rice’s practice concentrates in the areas of elder law, mental health law, probate administration, wills, trusts, estate planning, guardianship, conservatorship and Social Security matters. From 1991 to 1993, Ms. Rice served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri, representing the Department of Mental Health. In Addition, for the past ten years, Ms. Rice has served as a court appointed attorney for both St. Louis City and St. Louis County, representing individuals in civil commitment, guardianship and conservatorship cases.

Ms. Rice is a 1991 graduate from St. Louis University Schoo of Law where she was a member of the law journal staff. She received her B.A. degree in psychology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1988.

Ms. Rice is licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois and is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL), The Women Law Association of Greater St. Louis and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She currently serves on the Special Committee on Mental Developmental Disabilities formerly The Missouri Bar. In 1996 she was appointed Executive Liaison of the Law Committee for BAMSL. Ms. Rice currently holds the position of Governor as wellas co-chair of BAMSL’s Board of Governors. She is the recipient of an Award of Merit from the Young Lawyers’ Division of BAMSL for her work on the planning for the Elder Law Committee, as well as the 2003 recipient of the Older Women’s League Women’s Worth Award.

Ms. Rice is one of the founding members and currently serves as President of the Missouri Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is a volunteer attorney for th Alzheimers Association and on the Board of Directors of Autonomous Management, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting the elderly.
