Lawyer Overview
Chris Kim practiced real estate law for close to 20 years in New York City. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2006, she was a real estate partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. She has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, private and public equity offerings, complex mezzanine financings, and restructuring and reorganization of companies and portfolios of nonperfoming loans (NPLs).
In recent years, Chris's focus in Asia has been on private equity transactions in Asia Pacific and representations of U.S. institutional investors and foreign government entities in complex real estate-related business opportunities, including project finances and infrastructure investments, as well as corporate restructurings and debt and equity workouts.
Chris is a member of the board of visitors of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and a member of the advisory board for the Center for Hope (Haiti). Currently, she is an adjunct professor at the KDI School of Public Policy and Management in Seoul, Korea, lecturing on real estate securities and REITs.
She is fluent in English and Korean and can converse in Mandarin.
