Katherine Ritchey is a commercial litigator who has litigated a broad range of issues in federal and state courts as well as before the California Public Utilities Commission. Katherine has substantial experience with all phases of litigation and alternative dispute resolution. She has tried cases in federal and state courts and has argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Katherine was recently selected to be on the Northern District of California's mediator panel.

Katherine has extensive experience with ERISA disputes, including Department of Labor investigations, fiduciary cases, as well as single plaintiff and class action benefits cases.

At the CPUC, Katherine has worked on all types of proceedings, including rulemakings, investigations, and complaint matters. She has managed all aspects of CPUC proceedings, including discovery, briefing, and evidentiary hearings.

Katherine's trial experience in state and federal courts in California includes Bell Atlantic Corporation, Cellco Partnership and GTE Corporation v. Airtouch Communications, Inc. and WMC Partners, L.P. (July 1999); Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services, Inc. d.b.a. Sierra Vista Nursing and Rehabilitation Center v. The Department of Health Services of the State of California (April 1997); John F. Farbstein v. Standard Insurance Company (September 2000); Linda Hendrix v. Standard Insurance Company (May 1997); and Standard Insurance Company and Pearce and Frankman, Inc. v. Samuel Natelson (June 1997). In addition, she has five published opinions.
