Fritz has spent nearly 30 years advising lenders and borrowers in all aspects of real estate lending, including multifamily affordable housing lending and Section 42 low-income tax credit financing. He has assisted clients with direct loans, tax-exempt bond financing and direct bond purchase transactions. Fritz is skilled in coordinating these transactions with borrowers, tax credit investors, HUD, and local and state bond issuers.

Fritz has represented nonprofit organizations throughout the Midwest on a variety of financing and investment portfolio transactions. In his work, he has represented developers, community groups, lenders and nonprofit borrowers in publicly and privately financed projects ranging from collaboratively financed affordable housing and community projects to the development of a state-of-the-art health care campus for seniors and the building of a new parochial school. Fritz is a national leader in the use of federal and state tax credit programs to finance these activities.

Fritz is admitted in Minnesota. He is a member of the Ramsey County, Minnesota State and American Bar associations.

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Fritz received his B.A. from Yale University and his law degree cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law. Following law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lawrence R. Yetka of the Minnesota Supreme Court. Fritz joined Briggs in 1983.
