Lawyer Overview

Aaron is admitted to practice law in the state of New York and in Federal Court in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is primarily engaged in the practice of matrimonial and family law and is also involved in real property law, business transactions, criminal defense matters, estate planning and civil litigation.

Aaron graduated from Queens College, City University of New York with a degree in legal science and earned his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University School of Law.

Aaron began practicing in 1978 in New York City before opening his Yorktown Heights office in 1984. Together with Edwin Samalin, he formed the firm of Samalin & Bock, P.C. and concentrated in real estate, matrimonial and personal injury law. During this time, he served as law guardian in many cases and effectively advocated for children caught up in contested divorce and custody disputes.

In 1992, Aaron began the first of two elected terms as Supervisor of the Town of Yorktown, a full-time position which required him to leave the practice of law. As Supervisor, he not only served on the Town Board, but worked on many special projects with other communities and the Governor of the State of New York. He is particularly proud of working to protect and preserve the Croton Watershed as a representative of the Westchester communities located in the watershed area.

Upon leaving public office in 1996, Aaron returned to private practice, concentrating in matrimonial and family law, an outgrowth of his earlier work as a law guardian. After the retirement of his partner, Aaron continued a solo practice until his association with the firm of Quinn, Bock & Tota, PLLC, predecessors of his current firm.

Aaron is a member of the Westchester Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. In addition to his legal work, he is active in civic and community affairs. He is a founding member of the New Yorktown Chamber of Commerce where he currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is President of Temple Beth of Northern Westchester in Yorktown Heights. He has served as Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 38, in Shrub Oak, New York and leads monthly hikes, canoe trips and other outdoor activities at Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining, New York.
