Lawyer Overview

John Roebuck oversees Jones Day Asia. He has practiced in Asia for the greater part of the last 25 years and has experience working as a lawyer in Hong Kong and Tokyo and with the legal aspects of business transactions in a majority of jurisdictions in East Asia.

He has broad experience in the representation of financial institutions in asset-based financing and leasing transactions, including vessel and aircraft finance and leasing, and in structured finance transactions, including securitizations and real estate.

His experience also includes corporate transactions involving joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and dispositions.

In addition, he served as acting general counsel of IBM Japan, Ltd. for most of 2003.

He is fluent in Japanese.
