Mr. Jeffers is admitted to the bar of the State of New Jersey, 1955; U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, 1955; U.S. Tax Court, 1958; and U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit, 1986.
He has served as President of Morris County Legal Aid Society; Board of Trustees, Chester Presbyterian Church; Morris County Occupational Training Center; Judge, Washington Township Municipal Court; Attorney to the Borough of Mendham and the Board of Education for Mountain Lakes. He has also been a board member of the West Morris Regional High School Board of Education, the United Way of Morris County, Family Service of Morris County, St. John Baptist School, Trustees of Friends of Meeting House, and Burial Ground of the Dover Monthly Meeting. He has also served as Trustee to the Morris County Bar Association and on the General Council of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
His work has been reported in the cases of Huber v Serpico, 71 N.J. Super. 329 (App. Div. 1962); Equitable Life Assur. Soc. of U.S. v Huster, 75 N.J. Super. 492 (App. Div. 1962); Neptune Research & Development Inc. v Tecknics Indus. Systems Inc., 235 N.J.Super. 522 (App. Div. 1989) and Application of Strait, 120 N.J. 477 (1990).
