Law Firm Overview

Ms. Long attended UC Hastings and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1986. She started her law career as an associate with a San Francisco firm specializing in tax, business and estate planning law. Seeing a growing need for quality family law with tax and financial experience, she decided to apply her knowledge of complex financial issues in the family law area to better assist the diverse communities of Marin and San Francisco. Ms. Long has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since January 1990. She is certified as a Family Law Specialist by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization.

Ms. Long was a National Merit Scholar at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, from which she received a B.A. degree with honors in 1979, majoring in English literature and art history. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in 1979. Ms. Long has been recognized by Marin County Legal Aid, and by the AIDS Legal Referral Panel in San Francisco, for her pro bono work. When she is not practicing law, Ms. Long is a collector of first edition books and kaleidoscopes.
