Jerre focuses on assisting clients in managing intellectual property issues relating to patents. He routinely counsels clients on developing corporate strategies featuring product development, acquisition opportunities, and risk management in view of the entire patent landscape of the relevant industries.

He has assisted numerous clients in the procurement of patents in a wide range of industries. He also has identified business opportunities for his clients and assisted in the acquisition or licensing of value-added patent rights. These activities have included researching and identifying companies with strong patent portfolios for potential acquisition, providing expansion into new market sectors with established barriers to entry for competitors. He has established vendor outsourcing procedures for two Fortune 500 companies relating to conducting product clearance searches.

Jerre consistently assists clients in developing products for market in view of outside patent risks and counseling clients on ways to minimize risks. These efforts include conducting worldwide freedom to use patent clearance searches, providing guidance in the development of the related products to minimize market risks, and providing noninfringement and invalidity opinions when necessary. Additionally, he assists in negotiating licenses.

Jerre has successfully represented clients in patent litigation, twice obtaining summary judgment in favor of the client. He also has been involved in establishing patent portfolios for two major southeastern universities.

Jerre is a member of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, the State Bar of South Carolina, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He is listed in Georgia Trend magazine's "Legal Elite."
