Summary
Lawyer Overview
Danya Grunyk is an experienced Litigator who believes that for most families, the process of litigation is destructive, expensive and not always necessary. She is committed to the Collaborative Law Process and the benefits it provides as an alternative method for individuals and families going through a divorce or family transition, by allowing them to structure the process and the outcome based on their family's issues and needs, while maintaining privacy, dignity and control. In addition to her vast legal experience, Danya has over ten years experience in the corporate world prior to obtaining her legal degree, offering a wealth of financial knowledge.
Danya received her law degree from DePaul University College of Law and Seton Hall University School of Law. Danya obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 1977 and her M.B.A. from the University of Detroit in 1981. She is an Adjunct Professor at John Marshall Law School in Chicago, presents monthly case law updates to local Illinois Family Law Attorneys, and was certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a specialist in matrimonial law (1999-2005). Danya is a Certified Collaborative Law Professional (Fellow, Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois), a Certified Divorce Mediator (Rutgers University), a Certified Matrimonial Attorney (New Jersey Supreme Court), and an Approved Guardian ad Litem/Child Representative. Danya is also a member of the Center for International Legal Studies and a visiting professor at various law schools throughout Eastern Europe.
