Lawyer Overview

Andres C. Hurwitz is an associate in the Cerritos office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo.  Mr. Hurwitz has extensive experience handling all phases of complex litigation in both federal and state courts throughout California.  He focuses his practice on commercial litigation and the representation of employers.  Mr. Hurwitz also has extensive insurance coverage experience, including analysis, advice and counsel, and litigation involving CGL, D&O, EPL, E&O, commercial crime, and personal lines policies, along with fidelity bonds.

Mr. Hurwitz is a member of the State Bar of California (1990), the Massachusetts Bar (1997), and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.  He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Bar Foundation, and formerly served on the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (Barristers).  He also serves as a volunteer mediator and arbitrator with the Los Angeles Superior Court, and is a Judge Pro Tem. 

Mr. Hurwitz is an active supporter and volunteer at My Friend's Place, a resource center for homeless youth in Hollywood.  He has served as his Class Representative for The Park School in Brookline, Massachusetts for the last five years.

Mr. Hurwitz attended Duke University, and graduated from Boston College, with honors, in 1987, majoring in History and Philosophy.  He received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1990.  While in law school, he worked at the United States Department of Justice as a law clerk.
