Marc joined THE GARBER LAW FIRM in January 2003, after having spent nearly nine years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney with the United States Justice Department and working at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher and Alston & Bird.

Marc's versatility and effectiveness as both a Criminal Defense Attorney and an Employment and Labor Lawyer has earned him the title of one of Georgia's "Legal Elites" by Georgia Trend Magazine in both categories.

Marc has successfully handled more than 50 criminal and civil trials, almost all by jury, and appeals in federal and state courts throughout the United States, including the Supreme Court of the United States. His cases have taken him to courts in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, South Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, California, Nevada, Missouri, and Tennessee.

Marc's criminal practice focuses on Medicare fraud, Medicaid fraud, health-care insurance frauds, embezzlement, mortgage and bank fraud, forfeiture, money laundering, pharmaceutical and environmental offenses, and all other white-collar crimes investigated by the FBI, HHS, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the DEA, and the IRS.

His civil practice focuses on whistleblower claims under federal and state law, employment disputes, sexual harassment and disability discrimination, retaliation, class action wage and overtime cases, and all types of discrimination cases involving gender, pregnancy, and race.

Marc has won criminal trials involving murder-for-hire insurance fraud, Medicare and Medicaid fraud, bank fraud, environmental crimes, wire and mail fraud, money laundering, mortgage fraud, narcotics distribution, assault and battery, and arson.

He has also successfully defended charges and indictments for mail and wire fraud, insurance fraud, Medicare and Medicaid fraud, bank and mortgage fraud, pharmaceutical fraud, environmental violations, customs fraud, tax fraud and money laundering.

Marc has convinced federal prosecutors to drop grand jury investigations with no charges filed involving possible customs violations, bank and mortgage fraud, government-contractor billing practices, and money laundering. And he has won suppression motions to exclude evidence illegally seized by the government using search warrants and through illegal warrantless searches.

A number of Marc's criminal and civil cases have garnered the media's attention. The most widely covered involved a lawsuit against Coca-Cola. The case was covered by The New York Times, CNN, USA Today, Forbes, The Washington Times, and also received international coverage from England to China.
