The attorneys of Di Maria & Cone are a husband-and-wife team—Anne Di Maria Cone and Steve Cone. Together, we practice family law on the San Francisco peninsula, including San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Throughout the years of our shared family law practice, we have offered stability as well as professional advocacy to clients experiencing a divorce.

We are skilled advocates in matters pertaining to Child Custody And Visitation, Property Division , Support & Fees, and Domestic Violence including allowances for attorneys’ fees. We make every attempt to win favorable outcomes for our clients. If a favorable settlement with the opposing spouse is not possible outside of court, we strive for a favorable ruling in court. Usually, effective negotiation during the settlement process benefits the client, reducing acrimony and legal fees.

In our personal lives, we have raised three children, the youngest whom is in college. Because we are parents ourselves, we never lose sight that real children are affected by the outcomes of custody and visitation disputes and child-support determinations. Also, we have remained committed to our larger communities. For over 19 years, we both have acted as volunteer Pro Tem judges for Santa Clara County. This means that for at least one-half a day each month, we officiate at mandatory settlement conferences for couples in divorce proceedings. The conferences, mandated by the courts, offer couples one more opportunity to reach agreements more peacefully and less expensively than would be possible in a full-fledged court trial. We have also acted as Pro Tem judges for trials, law and motion hearings, and hearings on the default calendar and the District Attorney’s child support calendar.

Di Maria &Cone firm dates back to 1946, when Anne’s father started a law firm in Palo Alto after World War II. Anne Di Maria Cone joined the firm in 1979 when she was admitted to the California bar. She has practiced family law since 1979. Anne worked her way through law school as a legal secretary while raising two young children. She graduated from Lincoln Law School. Steve Cone has practiced family law with Anne for over 10 years. He graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law and was admitted to the California bar in 1978.
