Pro Se Divorce Overview

With offices located in Fort Lauderdale , Nancy and Andrew Washor are certified mediators by the Supreme Court of Florida. The husband and wife team runs Compassionate Mediation, Inc., helping couples make decisions about the major issues in their divorces. We use alternative dispute resolution methods to reduce the stress on spouses and children affected by divorce and to create a more cost-effective divorce process.

We help couples who represent themselves — they are technically called pro se litigants — by mediating all the issues involved in a divorce. We help these couples make decisions about child custody and parenting time, child support, spousal support, division of property and division of debts.

You may be in the same room with your spouse while working through these issues. If you prefer, you may be in separate rooms with mediators carrying messages back and forth between the rooms. This is often the case when couples have issues that they don't necessarily want to talk about face to face.

After you and your spouse have decided the major issues of your divorce, we help you prepare the divorce agreement. Couples present this agreement to the court and the divorce is usually granted with few changes to the terms the spouses decided.

Couples find that they gain more control over the divorce process by being pro se litigants. They also reduce the time they spend fighting and the stress and costs that go along with it.
