Vesselin Mitev Esq. Overview

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mitev was a bureau chief for the New York Law Journal, where he covered the New York courts from Manhattan to Albany for the nation's most prestigious legal daily newspaper. While at Hofstra School of Law, Mr. Mitev developed a taste for litigation by representing clients who were denied unemployment benefits.

Mr. Mitev is admitted to the Federal Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He speaks Bulgarian, Russian, and English, and keeps struggling with French. In Boyle v. County of Suffolk, Mr. Mitev helped represent a client whose vehicle was seized pursuant to a Suffolk County forfeiture law challenge the law in federal court. The court recognized that the County had failed to conduct post-seizure hearings in accordance with established federal and state law. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Mitev spent 12 years as a journalist, including working as a reporter for five newspapers and as a TV producer.
