Susan Kay Candiello Overview

As an attorney, mediator, nurse and single mother of four children, Susan brings a unique combination of compassion, knowledge and experience to her practice.  Susan attended Pennsylvania State University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and is a licensed RN in Pennsylvania.  Susan later attended New York University at Buffalo, New York where she received her Masters of Science in Community Health with a minor in Education.  Still searching for tools to assist her in helping people in need, Susan earned her Juris Doctorate in Law from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. 

Susan has practiced nursing in the community, individuals' homes, hospitals, intensive care units, and various types of long term care facilities.  She taught community health nursing at University of Michigan and Wayne Sate University.  She has practiced law in Pennsylvania for 14 years.  Susan's practice is premised on her concept of Holistic law.  She believes you cannot take a piece of a person out of his life and treat that piece alone.  A person is a part of a whole, which is made up of the person and everything and everyone who are a part of and affect the person's life.  If other parts and people in a person's life are ignored or not even considered, solutions to problems may not be successful.  Susan has had extensive training in mediation and has practiced mediation for 8 years.  She is a strong proponent of assisting people to avoid the emotional and financial cost of litigation through mediation.  Susan's education and experience in medicine, nursing, law, mediation and life enable her to address the needs of the families and individuals who are her clients in a more comprehensive manner than the traditional legal perspective. There is a great need for people to understand and find their way through our legal system or even around it.  Susan is committed to helping her clients meet that need.
