Nick James Overview

Mr. James began his career within Leigh, James & Associates as a law clerk. He later became an associate attorney, then the director of operations, and is now the Managing Partner. He focuses his practice in the area of complex divorce cases. The majority of his cases involve either, the distribution of significant marital assets, a heated custody dispute, or mitigating a potential alimony obligation. He also frequently litigates paternity issues, parental relocation disputes, domestic violence issues, and post dissolution modifications of alimony, child support, and time sharing.

He attended law school at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. His undergraduate degree is from West Virginia University. While attending West Virginia University Mr. James was the President of his dormitory, President of his fraternity, and President of the Intra-Fraternity Council. Furthermore he was twice named the student representative to the prestigious West Virginia University Athletic Council.

Mr. James is admitted to practice law throughout the state of Florida. He only represents men and only practices family law. His professional memberships include: The Florida Family Law American Inns of Court, The Florida Bar Family Law Section, and The Florida Bar Appellate Section. Nick is a resident of Clay County, Florida where he resides with his wife, Lauren, and son, Mack.
