Melissa Herr Overview

Melissa is originally from Kansas City, MO and she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, with a minor in Public Law, from Missouri State University. Following graduation from Missouri State University, Melissa attended the University Of Tulsa College Of Law finishing in the top third of her class.

While at the University of Tulsa, Melissa was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll for 2004 – 2005. She was the editor on the Energy Law Journal. She received a CALI award for her achievements in Criminal Law, Family Law, Native American and Indigenous Rights and Evidence Workshop. Melissa also received the Oklahoma Bar Association Outstanding Family Law Student Award for 2006. She received the Outstanding Year In Review Member Award for achievements as the senior staff member on the Energy Law Journal in 2006. Melissa’s internship included an intern with Judge Terrence Michael at the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District, an intern for Atkinson Haskin and also with Riggs Abney. Melissa finished up her internship at Boesche Legal Clinic at the University of Tulsa and worked in the Muskogee (Creek) National Legal Program.
