Ms. Yasinow represents a diverse client base, from individuals and small businesses to bankruptcy trustees. In her capacity as counsel for bankruptcy trustees, Ms. Yasinow has prosecuted dozens of adversary proceedings, with a particular focus on preferential and fraudulent transfer actions. In February 2013, she won a $116,767.65 summary judgment in a preferential transfer case for the benefit of a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee. In addition to her bankruptcy work, Ms. Yasinow has diverse legal experience in the fields of state and federal telemarketing law, the Affordable Care Act, and intellectual property law, including copyright and trademark infringement.

As a member of the Case Western Reserve Law Review, Melissa published her Note, When Romer Met Feeney: Why the Second Sentence of the Ohio Marriage Amendment Violates Equal Protection, 61 Case W. Res. L. Rev. 1315 (2011). As an extension of her academic research, Melissa now also works with the Domestic Relations practice group, focusing on issues pertaining to same-sex couples and the LGBTQ community, including relationship recognition, separation, and parental rights.

In November 2013, Ms. Yasinow was elected Councilor for the City of Cleveland Heights. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Yasinow served as a Fulbright Grantee in the Republic of Korea, and externed for Chief Judge Pat E. Morgenstern-Clarren in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio and for Magistrate David S. Perelman in the Northern District of Ohio.
